In this Rose Theater performance, the JLCO with Wynton Marsalis leads audiences through the music’s earliest era, integrating elements of blues, gospel, country, and bluegrass and featuring captivating new arrangements of works by Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, Sidney Bechet, and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings as well as Duke Ellington’s NOLA-inflected music of the 1920s.
