Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra w/ Wynton Marsalis in Dresden
Wynton Marsalis is one of the most brilliant virtuosos on his instrument. The nine-time Grammy winner and Pulitzer Prize winner has been the conductor of the New York Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for thirty years now. With their music, the ensemble consisting of fifteen top musicians and their band leader want to maintain the legacy of American jazz and at the same time give classic swing a contemporary touch. In the spirit of their role models, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie and Louis Armstrong, the artists live out their mission on tours around the world as well as in meetings in schools. At the final concert of the music festival in the Junge Garde, the audience can enjoy an atmospheric taste of the captivating and rousing play of this formation.
