Cécile McLorin Salvant: Ogresse at Bozar
The incredible vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant returns to Bozar with a major project, Ogresse, which she describes as “a dark tale, full of mystery, about the balance between love, life and death, which ends on a mountain full of snakes and flowers…”. A dark-skinned woman lives in the woods and loves human flesh: Ogresse plays for ninety minutes with thirteen musicians under the direction of Darcy James Argue, and the voice of McLorin Salvant, who single-handedly embodies the various characters in this fairy-tale musical that explores themes such as power, gender, race, diversity and love.
