Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis & The Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra in Timişoara
Wynton Marsalis is a trumpeter, composer, and a member of the well-known musical Marsalis family. One of the most popular musicians in the world – It is said that he is the first jazzman who possessed all varieties of the genre – from New Orleans roots, through bebop, to modern jazz. He was a member of Art Blakey’s band “Jazz Messengers”, he also collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Sarah Vaughan, Dizzy Gillespie, Sweets Edison, Clark Terry, Sonny Rollins, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and the London National Philharmonic Orchestra. Wynton plays the one-of-a-kind trumpet made by Dave Monette, it was designed specifically for the left-handed Marsalis and is covered with personal engravings.
Wynton Marsalis is a multiple Grammy Award winner in the jazz and classical categories and a Pulitzer Prize winner for his album Blood On The Fields. He is also the director of the Jazz Lincoln Center Orchestra.
