Cécile McLorin Salvant at NC State University
The future of jazz is in good hands with Cécile McLorin Salvant. The world first learned of her vocal artistry when she won the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 2010.
In just under the span of a decade she has evolved from a darling of jazz critics and fans to a three-time Grammy Award winner and MacArthur Fellow, to a prescient and fearless voice in music today.
Her new album Ghost Song, released in March 2022, marks her debut with Nonesuch Records. The album features an innovative interpretation on the themes of ghosts, nostalgia and yearning.
Salvant says, “It’s unlike anything I’ve done before; it’s getting closer to reflecting my personality as an eclectic curator. I’m embracing my weirdness.” Be there to welcome Ms. Salvant to our stage!
