By improvising, jazz celebrates personal freedom and encourages individual expression. By swinging, it dedicates that individual freedom to finding and maintaining common ground with other individuals. And by being rooted in the blues, he inspires us to face any adversity with persistent optimism.

Led by Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra consists of 15 of the finest soloists, ensemble musicians and arrangers in jazz today. For more than a quarter of a century, this New York ensemble, as steeped in tradition as it is in jazz, has regularly met with jazz-loving audiences at Vienna’s Konzerthaus. Storms of enthusiasm are also pre-programmed when this glorious tradition finds its continuation in June 2023. And so the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will once again fulfill the noble mission it set itself at the beginning.
