In the words of Wynton Marsalis, she is “a one-woman wrecking crew, an indomitable force for expression, education, and absolute excellence.” A triple nominee for Rising Star Alto Saxophonist in Downbeat Magazine’s Critics Poll from 2020-2022, Alexa has been recognized as one of the Top 5 Alto Saxophonists of 2019 by JazzTimes. She has toured globally with artists like Cécile McLorin Salvant, Wynton Marsalis, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Alexa has released multiple albums, including Firefly, Clarity, and Winds of Change, and her work consistently tops jazz radio charts. In addition to performing, Alexa is a sought-after educator and the founder of the Cape Ann Jazz Workshop. She holds a master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Juilliard and is a Vandoren and Yamaha Performing Artist.
