Alexa Tarantino Quartet at El Cantoral in Mexico City

Alexa Tarantino is an American jazz saxophonist, multi-wind player, composer, and educator. She has performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis, Sherrie Maricle and the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, and Cécile McLorin Salvant.

Tarantino was nominated as a “Rising Star: Alto Saxophone” by Downbeat Magazine Critics Poll in 2020 and 2021, and JazzTimes Critics Poll named her one of the “Top 5 Alto Saxophonists of 2019”. In 2021, Tarantino received the Jazz Coalition Fund.
