SUMMARY:Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in Neuhardenberg, Germany
DESCRIPTION:Wynton Marsalis is one of the world’s best jazz trumpeters; in fact, according to his classical colleague Maurice André, ‘possibly even the greatest trumpeter of all times.’  The nine Grammy award and Pulitzer Prize winner, who celebrated his 60th birthday in October 2021, is also one of Jazz’s most tireless ambassadors. With his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, a force of nature in big band format, Wynton Marsalis has dedicated himself to the mission of a ‘global community for jazz’, to cite the band’s official press release. A noble goal, which Marsalis and his fifteen fellow musicians not only pursue at the Lincoln Center in New York City but also worldwide and with always new programmes.\nWith plenty of virtuosity, versatility, energy and enthusiasm for their music, the great soloist and his ensemble will bring a generous helping of living American jazz history to Neuhardenberg’s Chestnut Lawn. Hardly surprising, then, that the audience usually goes crazy as soon as the first number is announced.\n
