SUMMARY:Jazz at Lincoln Center w/ Wynton Marsalis in Chalon-sur-Saône
DESCRIPTION:The New York ensemble Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis deploys a sophisticated art of swing, between classicism and modernity, with an absolutely irresistible panache.\nA concert by this veritable institution is an opportunity to draw from a considerable repertoire. Indeed, the orchestra interprets and revives works from the golden age of the Swing Era by Count Basie or Fletcher Henderson as well as scores by Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington. He also breathes new life into the music of John Lewis, Dave Brubeck, Wayne Shorter and Charlie Parker.\nConsisting of leading soloists called upon to invest their improvisations in the compositions they perform, the famous big band has been spreading for 30 years a luxuriant, festive jazz, nourished by tradition and driven by a formidable sense of swing. An unmissable evening!\n
